The Alice + Olivia Spring RTW collection was amazing. It was nice to see some influence from classic looks, reinspired on the runway this season. I love that she styled all of the looks to appear slightly costumey, but it’s still obvious that all of them are wearable today.
The sequin dress with the blazer is so chic. That little bit of sparkle paired with the patterned blazer was a great way to modernize two classic looks. The high-waisted, wide-legged jeans are clearly referencing the 70s, and the pastels make it so now. (Pastel separates are hot for the spring!) Which leads me to the final look. The cardigan is questionable and could have made the model appear older than she really is, but the cropped pants and the almost match-matchy belt and shoe make the entire look work for me. (The fab sunglasses don’t hurt either.)
If I had to choose one favorite it would have to be the little red dress to the right. It’s so simple, but the obvious nod to the 60s makes it fab and, ironically, updated. The yellow shirt with striped pants is almost too over the top, but the hat makes it work. If anybody were to wear this it would clearly be to make a statement. I’m not sure I would wear these 3 pieces together, but I would definitely wear them separate from each other. Finally, the black and white dress (B+W, also very hot this spring) is so simple, but the black pop adds so much. This dress is timeless.
