Alexander Wang Fur Puffer Jacket

Fur is the word this season.  And not just regular fur…I’m talkin’ BIG fur, just like the lovely Alexander Wang below.  Though this shape may not be the most flattering on any body, it’s fierce enough to make up for it.  (Just saying, these jackets will always remind me of Rachel Zoe, and that’s one fierce bitch.)

Despite the fact that I paired these two colors (burgundy and mustard) again, this is a completely different look.  The Balmain ink-stained jeans add a different style to the color pairing.  It makes it less classic and more bad-ass chic.  I’m also really feeling loafers right now.  They’re comfy and can add an androgynous element to any outfit.

A dainty necklace and classic watch work well with the jacket.  Anything too big or flashy would be overwhelming…unless you’re on a Vogue photo shoot.  Then it would obviously be fabulous.  Remember…it’s all about balance!

70s Glam Corduroys

This look reminds me of a more organic, slightly toned down Rachel Zoe.  I love a high waisted pant with a crop top.  With a look like this you could either add a belt or not, but I personally wanted to keep it slightly more simple since there is so much fabulousness already going on here.

Fur and the 70s look are both very trendy right now.  But when dressing in multiple trends, it’s imperative not to go overboard with the look.  Keep it relatively simple or you can start to look costumey, especially when you’re referencing a certain era in your outfit.

Check back tomorrow for a more classic corduroy look.

Graphic in Luxury

I love a good graphic.  It adds another level to an outfit…if done properly!  To succeed in the world of graphic clothing, please avoid anything with cheesy sayings on it.  For example…

First of all…nobody cares that you’re young and reckless, and they now think you’re stupid for wearing that shirt.  Second of all, anybody who wears a shirt that says “Good Girl <3 Bad Boy,” was probably never a “good girl” to begin with.

If you want to rock a graphic, THIS is the way to do it:

1. Moschino Cheap and Chic Tour Eiffel Printed Creme Mini Dress $850

2. Rachel Zoe Single Breasted Wool Jacket $425

3. Jason Wu Melodie Doctor’s Bag $2, 195

4. House of Harlow Star Earrings with Black Cabochon $45

5. Yves Saint Laurent Golden Logo Bangle $995

6. Giuseppe Zanotti Ankle-Wrap Suede Platform Pump $695

Music and fashion go hand in hand.  They both continue to inspire each other and this outfit immediately made me think of Paris (Ooh La La) by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.  It’s not only Parisian (I know, cliché) but it also makes you feel like a real bad ass.  I think listening to it will get you ready to rock this outfit if you weren’t before.

I love pairing a blazer with a graphic.  It adds a level of structure and sophistication that without it would be lacking.  You could also pair this with an awesome black leather jacket, but I LOVE pairing two bold colors together.  It shows that your fearless!

And of course we don’t all have millions to spend on designer duds (or the star power to have them sent to us for free) but that’s why you should come back tomorrow to see how to wear graphics in reality.

Little Blue Dress in Luxury

I loved Kourtney Kardashian‘s blue dress at the Teen Choice Awards. She wore a Blaque Label Sweetheart Chiffon Dress, and didn’t she look fab?

Here’s an example of how to wear the new LBD: the Little Blue Dress:

1. TIBI Draped Dress $297

2. Gucci 1973 Shoulder Bag $795

3. LANA Blake Bar Earrings $780

4. Pamela Love 7 Crystal Cuff $495

5. Fiona Paxton Dakotah Ring $160

6. Theyskens’ Theory Patent-Leather Wedges $465

Olivier Theyskens was asked to design a collection for Theory and these amazing wedges (6.) were born. I’m obsessed with all of them but the patent-leather and suede ombré’s have to be my favorite…I mean, look at these!
Speechless……..The ankle straps are even removable:
In the words of my favorite stylist…I die.  (For those of you who don’t get this reference…please watch The Rachel Zoe Project.  The new season starts September 6th.  Do yourself a favor and tune in.)  It’s bananas.
Come back tomorrow for how to wear the little blue dress in reality!
